----- Friday -----
The part-timer Hornets arrived early in the afternoon and as we were banned from pitching our tents until the school kids kicked out headed into Godalming to find the local Wetherspoons. Godalming must be a bit posh because doesn't have your normal everyday Wetherspons oh no, it's a.Lloyds. Safe in the knowledge that we were less likely to be thrown out because Wil wasn't with us, the Essex and Bath contingent ordered the usual beer and a burger and then headed back to the school to find the fair skinned Riley duly setting up his tent in the most shaded area. With the 2 second tents erected and the arrival of all the Hornets bar Wil and his Mrs, the Hornets set out to do what they do best.a little bit of drinking, and then a lot more drinking. To be perfectly honest, being put as James drinking partner on team Bignose, there are a lot of blank areas in my memory from the evening, I remember Scott, Ross, James and Jonny the Hornets very own Backstreet Boys having a good ol sing along to 'I want it that way' and Mark singing 'Mac the Knife' rather well (or that could have been the drink affecting my hearing.) Bex informed us of her tactical chunder at 11.10pm, unfortunately, this didn't really prepare her for further chundering over the balcony of the clubhouse a bit later on.
When I arrived back at camp, I recall Ross and Singles sitting around laughing at Brian's incoherent mumblings. I am not sure exactly what time Brian had arrived with us that evening, and he was in a slightly more jovial mood than usual, probably because he had some serious speech impediment issues!

----- Saturday -----
The Hornets enjoyed an unusual lay-in on Saturday morning with their first game not till 10:40am Jonny, Scott and some of the girls sauntered off to Mary's Cafe in Goladming for a much needed fried breakfast, while others chose to just lounge around in their beds until it was necessary to move. In 30 degree heat, Aido donned the Dragons costume as well as his goalie kit, and despite almost collapsing form heat exhaustion and not being able to see anything out of the headpiece performed amazingly well throughout the day.
During the afternoon, Ross, Jonny, James, Hannah and Scott decided to teach Wil 'Drink while you think' whilst trying to finish of a delectable Caribbean Twist bottle each. Needless to say, Wil had drunk all of his and an awful lot more and still hadn't really grasped the concept of the game!
The Hornets lined their stomach's with lots of pizza before the drinking started off again. Ross suggested a game of 'My little red bus' and was soon regretting it when he was totally rubbish at the game and even Jo (who'd been giving hints to a lot of others) wouldn't help him!

We then went to the Harvester those who were left and happy in the knowledge that we were the best hockey team and finally had some silverware to prove it all went back to our respective homes with very smiley and smug faces. If we'd have had to spoof for the trophy, we would never have won.too much gloating to be done!
