21-May-07 - Andy's offski!
Sad to say but our favourite resident Ginger (sorry Suz) is leaving for pastures hotter. Andy Potapa is emigrating to Australia. Hopefully as many of you as possible can join him for a few drinks before he departs to burn amongst the convicts. While the venue chosen is not Clapham (the centre of the social universe)... but it is quite close to there! The plan is to sample the delights of the Duke of Devonshire (Balham) http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/16/1699/Duke_of_Devonshire/Balham

Its Hornets' style quality and the little man will be there from 6:30 onwards (Saturday 09-June-07). Should you wish to purchase Andy a drink - he'll have a whiskey as he's watching his weight these days... also, he's so keen he's already sorted himself a chair...

Potty tries a drunken attempt at woodwork

Andy's been part of the Hornets since it started and he'd like to see you all before he goes... so if you are around then please make it along and help toast his departure.

21-Apr-07 - Singles wins the HA Vase...

Singles in action... Singles defending a short corner...

Saturday saw Singles, from the Hornets squad, involved in the HA Trophy Vase final at Chelmsford HC, playing for her club side Chichester. Who pulled off a bit of a mugging by winning the Vase by a golden goal in the first period of extra time against Sonning HC. Chichester had been on the back foot for much of the game and Singles made two great saves on the line. However, they were especially under pressure when Singles got sent off for, what the umpired deemed to be, a deliberate and shocking stick tackle! Despite the enforced rest, she was back on the pitch when the winning goal was scored.

17-Apr-07 - Mark tries out a new role...

MJ makes another heroic save!

After another shortage of keepers on tour, Mark Jones stepped into the breach to ensure that the Hornets had the best chance of winning something. After clocking up 14 hours in four days in between the sticks the verdict was that he wasn't the disaster everyone had predicted! Some key saves helped the Hornets get to the final... and also guesting for Exeter Uni and securing 5th place!
