04-Aug-03 - Hornet member wins a medal

During the recent tour to Bath... Mark Jones was the hornet representative in the Festival exhibition game. The game involved an invitational XI (picked from the festival team) playing a select XI chosen from teams at the top end of the Bath Buccaneers club. The Invitational XI beat the Bath Select XI 3-0, helped on by MJ performing a goal line clearance from a short corner flick! As a result of winning the match all members of the Invitational XI were awarded festival medals.

Congratulations to Mark Jones who recently passed his exams in Egypt and is now a fully qualified PADI Scuba Diving Instructor. Rumours are that he may be moving to Egypt to teach diving in the near future!!!
23-Jun-03 - Marathon Effort!
Congratulations to both Simon Riley & Mel Clark who completed the Blackpool Half Marathon (13.1 miles) on the 22-June. Simon's time was 2hrs 13mins and Mel's time was 1hr 59mins.
17-May-03 - Two get qualified
Congratulations to both Mark Jones & Aidan Brock who successfully completed their Level 1 umpiring certificates over the weekend at the Battersea International Festival. Mark & Aido were also playing as part of Tulse Hill & Dulwich Hockey Club where they finished in 3rd place.
18-Apr-03 - Two more members join for success
The Hornets have recruited two more girs just in time for the Easter tour to Folkestone. Kate Whitaker - cousin of Club President Mark Jones - and Hannah Browster from City of Bath HC are the new members. This takes the grand total of Hornets up to a squad of 58.
