21-Sep-02 - Another Goalie joins the ranks
The Hornets have recruited yet another keeper. The latest addition to the squad is Religious Studies teacher Andrew Rogers, who played for the first time at the Stratford Festival and earnt himself the tour name 'Jesus' - it would appear that Jesus really does save!

05-Jul-02 - Hornets take on more players
After the success of the Bath reunion and with the need to ever grow the squad - the Hornets welcome new members once again. Previous associates from the City of Bath HC Melanie Carosi & Yeng Ng have now joined as new members. Addititonally from the same club some new associates have also joined - namely Jess & Durry. Also Carly-Jane Martell from Mill Hill HC has joined. All these new members will turn out for the Hornets at the Bath Tour at the start of August.

29-Apr-02 - Hornets swap captaincy at Tulse Hill
Hornets Simon Riley & Mark Jones have swapped the captaincy of the Tulse Hill 4s - with Simon the outgoing captain and Mark the incoming one. Simon has presided over 3 very successful seasons seeing the side reach the final and semi-final of the play-offs in the last two years.

21-Apr-02 - Hornet player in Cup Success

Tulse Hill 6s Playoff Trophy

Simon Riley and his team - Tulse Hill Mens 6s - have won the playoff cup for the Pizza Express London League 5D. The match went to penalty flicks after a hard fought game had ended 1-1, with Simon scoring for TH with a flick after a goal bound shot had been stopped by a foot. Heroics from Adam, the TH keeper, and mistakes from Wayfarers (who were helped along during the game by a few ringers) enabled TH to win the game 4-3 on penalty flicks. With Simon again successful from the flick spot.

14-Apr02 - Princess finishes the London Marathon!
Congratulations to Ryan 'Princess' Matthews who completed the Flora London Marathon in under 3 1/2 hours - narrowly beaten by Paula Radcliffe who clocked 2hrs 18mins 56sec & Kahlid Khannouchi with 2hrs 5mins 38secs. Ryan also managed to raise over £500 for the RNLI.

14-Apr-02 - Double Cup Heartbreak for Hornets
Bad news for Hornets members Mark Jones, Dougal Davis, Lee Tearle, Lee Snowden & Aidan Brock, who's league side Tulse Hill, were knocked out of the Division 4 League Cup at the Semi-Final stage on Saturday. They lost 2-1 to Richmond who have also secured promotion this season. Also, John Kirby and Scott & Ross McArdell were knocked out as part of the Baddow HC side that lost in the Mixed Cup this weekend. However, on a more successful note, Simon Riley and the Tulse Hill Mens 6s have made it to the League Cup Final, which will be played on 21-April-02.

24-Mar-02 - Hornet's Ranks Swell Further
Ready for the Annual tour to Bournemouth the Hornets have recruited some more members. The girls team welcome the addition of Jenny Haywood, Claire Whitehead & Nicole Yost (from Tulse Hill HC) plus Natalie Wilson. The Mens side welcome the addition of Ross & Scott McArdell (from Baddow HC) and random Dutchie Chris Ek.
