08-Aug-05 - Hornets scrape 14th place @ Bath
The Bath tour certainly saw more success off the pitch than on it. With one win and 3 draws the Hornets scraped a lazy 14th place after losing the cross-over game 1-0 on the Sunday. Still, who tours for the hockey anyway?

16-Apr-05 - New kit on order
The club are placing another order for Anglia Hornets HC Squad kit. The Hornets have two different types of shirts - a polo shirt & a drill shirt. Typically the polo shirt is the 'playing' shirt and the drill shirt is the 'drinking' shirt. But you can do either of these activities in either of the shirts!!! The drill shirts are slightly more expensive but they are much heavier cotton. It doesn't matter whether you just want some more shirts or have recently joined and don't have any kit. For more infromation about kit click here, to place and order then please email Mark Jones.

28-Mar-05 - Final Folkestone Festival is a roaring success
The third and final trip to the Folkestone Easter Festival was well attended and one of the best easter tours to date.

Hornets squad for the Stratford Tour

The Hornets turned in some 'special' performances that ended up with a very good set of results for an Easter tour.

Team P W D L F A Dif Pts
Hornets 7 4 1 2 22 14 +8 13

Goals: Catherine Dwyer (3), Tim Bailey (3), Ross McArdell (2), Scott McArdell (2), Mark Jones (2), Gareth Norris & Jon Kirby.

Clearly the Hornets took a day to settle in but then it was nothing but wins. A festival match against the Kent U18s on Monday proved to be bridge too far as it was close until half-time and then the fitness went and the kids ran out easy winners. Still the results on the second and third days more than made up for that. The squad were as follows: Tim Bailey (GK), MJ, Jon Kirby, James Kirby, Scott McArdell, Ross McArdell, Gareth Norris, Aidan Brock, Mike Selby, George Sykes (GK), Victoria H, Catherine Dwyer, Bex Law, Hannah Browster, Ellie Gardener, Hazel Wordley & Fran Root.

22-Mar-05 - Super Hornets Dutch Tour update
The Holland tour is booked and the final details are being hammered out. There are 17 players, making this tour the biggest tour to Holland ever! There are a few ideas planned to ensure this will also be the best Dutch Tour to date! The tour location has been confirmed as www.ballenaanzee.nl - HC Klein Zwitserland Klatteweg, 113, Den Haag (Telefoon: 070 - 3543948 or 070 - 3544264)
  • Representing the UK: Gareth Norris, Jon Kirby, James Kirby, Will Kirby, Ross McArdell, Mark Jones, Andrew Potapa, Alisdair Gordon, Shandy Hurst, Jose Panteras.
  • Representing the Flatlanders: Will Dijckmeester, Chris Ek, Lucas van Rossem, Reinout Reinout, Fat Ruud, plus 2 un-named secret dutchies.
For further information on the tour, transport options or to find out more about the Super Hornets please email Gareth.

16-Mar-05 - Hornets confirm team for Folkestone 2005
The money is in (well most of it) and the votes have been counted (?!?). The hotel is booked and the team is confirmed. The Hornets kick off their annual campaign in Folkestone with their first game at 12Noon on Easter Friday. Team for this year is George Sykes (GK), Tim Bailey (GK), MJ, Jon Kirby, James Kirby, Scott McArdell, Ross McArdell, Gareth Norris, Aidan Brock, Mike Selby, Victoria H, Catherine Dwyer, Bex Law, Hannah Browster, Ellie Gardener, Hazel Wordley & Fran Root.

17-Feb-05 - Hornets website re-launched
The website - www.angliahornets.com - has been redesigned and relaunched for 2005. All the old content has been included but the design and navigation have been streamlined to enable the download time to be minimized. In addition to this the entire site has been migrated to a new web server at Web-Mania and away from Yahoo! Geocities. This has the benefit of removing the irritating pop-up adverts and drastically increasing the bandwidth for photo downloads to 6GB per month.

16-Feb-05 - The Annual Super Hornets Tour to Holland
The annual tour to Holland is planned for the 13-15 May but the actual festival that the hornets will enter is still to be confirmed.
