29/11/01 - Upcoming Tour Schedule about to be confirmed
The Hornets are in the process of working out their touring plans for the next two years. The current plans are to go on three tours per year. The intinery is to include two festival type tours in the UK - one of which is to be over the Easter weekend. The third of the planned yearly tours is to be an international one. Current destinations under consideration are California, Toronto, Vancouver, Rotterdam & Barbados.
20/10/01 - New shirts to be ordered
There is to be a new shirt launched for the Hornets. This will be a more lightweight shirt - possibly a polo shirt. The colours and design will either be black & gold stripes or quarters. The idea is to offer a shirt that lends itself better towards competitions in warmer climates. The current squad shirts will still continue to be available.
23/09/01 - Hornets get back to normal at Stratford
The Hornets got back to their usual dismal form at this years Stratford Mixed Hockey Festival. After the recent string of good festivals results, they crashed to results of W0 L8 D1! But the team was, as usual, a massive success in the bar in the evening. Opposition team members were queing up to join in the hornets drinking games. Mark Jones & Lee Snowden finished joint top scorers with one each!
16/07/01 - Hornets confirm entry into Stratford Tour
The Hornets have confirmed that they will be entering this years Stratford Mixed Hockey Festival in September. After the recent string of good festivals results, expectations are that this festival outing may well result in some silverware!
17/04/01 - Hornets in shock Bournemouth Tour success
The Hornets have excelled all previous Tours by making the 2001 Easter Tour to Bournemouth their most successful ever. Over the weekend the team notched up the folowing results: W3 D1 L3. This was made even more special by actually reaching the Cup Semi-Finals with wins over Zak Hood 1-0 and gagging4it 2-1 only to lose out 2-0 to the eventual winners Streakers.
26/03/01 - Hornets Launch Community Features
The Hornets website now boasts links to both a message board and a new chat room facility. After consultation with various companies it was decided to have the boards hosted by World Crossing. It was felt that the introduction of message boards was very important to help members of the club keep in contact as many are highly geographically disparate and are rarely able to meet up.
